Instead take in the sights as you zoom high above the valley below.

The Gravity Ziplines tour serves up a dose of adrenaline that’s on par with our most extreme adventures! You’ll zip up to 200 feet high and over one and a half miles worth of cables, all through a wonderful series of mountain ridges and bowls in the heart of Southern West Virginia. The course descends six ziplines: two 500-foot warm-ups, and then progressively longer and faster lines at 1,300 feet, 1,600 feet, and 1,800 feet before getting to the main attraction.

All that adrenaline so far? That’s just a preview of the thrill you’ll experience on Adrena-line! This 3,150-foot zipline (that’s about three quarters of a mile) is one of the longest and fastest in the nation, pushing zippers up to 65 miles per hour. Give yourself to Gravity. It’ll be a highlight of your trip!

What’s Included

We’ll provide expert safety instruction and all the necessary safety gear, including helmets, gloves, and harnesses.

What to Wear and Bring

Closed-toed, secure shoes are mandatory. Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move around in, but avoid loose clothing, and tie back long hair–you don’t want anything getting stuck in our zipline cables. Our trips run rain or shine, so dress according to the weather. Think sunscreen and sunglasses during the summer and jackets for the cold, wind, or rain.

We’ll provide guests with all the necessary safety equipment for this course. Small backpacks are permitted in most cases but are absolutely not necessary. Water will be provided at stations throughout the course. Let your guide know if any specialized medical supplies need to be brought out on course throughout the adventure. We will have a safe spot for any valuables you don’t want to take on the course.

Where to Meet

Trips will start and end at Building 8 on the Mill Creek side of campus. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to trip time for check in.

Inclement Weather

Trips will continue even during periods of heavy rain, but trips will be halted in the case of lightning or heavy sustained winds on the mountain.

Trip Length

It all depends on the size of your group, but a round-trip adventure generally takes two to three hours. This includes bus rides, gear up, and actual physical completion of the course.

Safety

There is inherent risk in any adventure, but with our highly trained guides we aim to mitigate any risks involved. Gravity Ziplines features top-of-the-line equipment, and we follow strict safety guidelines.

What if I decide I do not want to continue the course?

There will be an option to exit the course after our starter zips if you so choose. You will remain on the Gravity Mountain for the remainder of the trip until the group finishes up. This usually means a ride in the UTV to the bottom of the mountain to hang out at our gear trailer.

What if I am afraid of heights?

Although these ziplines are the highest and fastest around, half of your journey will be spent navigating the platforms at the ground level. Our guides are highly trained in helping calm these fears and are usually able to help you work through it.

Will I be able to watch my group complete this course?

No. Gravity Ziplines is located away from Adventures on the Gorge’s main campus and is only accessible by bus ride. People actively participating on the trips are the only persons allowed on this journey.
