Mary Arritt – Adventures on the Gorge Aerial Guide
Adventures on the Gorge: How and when did you become an aerial adventure guide?
Mary Arritt: I became an aerial guide in 2011. I saw an ad in the newspaper and applied. Bud Frantz hired me and the rest is history.
AOTG: What is your favorite part of your job?
Mary: My favorite part of my job is giving people from all over the world an unforgettable outdoor experience.
AOTG: What is your favorite part about spending time in up in the trees?
Mary: I’m a nature nerd, so I like to see the canopy up close and watch as it changes from day to day.
AOTG: What are three reasons people should book an aerial adventure?
Mary: The reasons I tell people they should book an aerial adventure are:
- To see the forest in a new way
- To experience “flying” over the mountains
- Push yourself out of your comfort zone
AOTG: What makes Adventures on the Gorge different and special?
Mary: Our guides love our jobs and we live in paradise! It is not hard to be happy here!
AOTG: What is your advice to a first time Aerial Adventurer? What trip do you suggest they take?
Mary: My advice for a first time zipper is to show up with a sense of adventure, ready to learn something new. Wear clothes with secure pockets for your phone if you want to take pictures of your adventure.
AOTG: What is your favorite memory at Adventures on the Gorge?
Mary: Making friends with some of the best people I have ever met!
