Overview

Learn to Kayak Through Whitewater

It’s hard to beat the unique feel of rushing through action-packed whitewater with the precision and maneuverability of a kayak. We call this “river running,” and it’s popular here in the New River Gorge! This type of whitewater adventure requires concentration, technical abilities, and a solid understanding of how to read water. We offer beginner lessons for those just starting to build these skill sets and intermediate lessons for those who are looking to improve.

Most of your session will be spent on easy-moving, Class I water. Depending on your progress, you may even get to experience Class II water. Learning how to whitewater kayak takes time and effort, so we maintain a 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio. That way, you’ll receive high levels of personal attention to learn more efficiently and keep you safe on the water.
