Ziplining in West Virginia: Exploring Two Thrilling Courses For The Ultimate Adventure

If you’re looking for breathtaking scenic views and an exciting adventure through the leafy mountaintops of West Virginia, then you don’t want to miss out on the zipline tours we offer at Adventures on the Gorge, where we are proud to have two zipline courses.

Each of the courses at Adventure on the Gorge has its own unique experience and thrills, and it’s up to you to decide which one is going to be your own personal adventure. So, which course suits you best? Let’s go over the differences between the two, and take a closer look at what makes each one special!

TreeTops

First, we’ll talk about our year-round TreeTops Canopy Tour. This tour is an immersive wilderness learning experience mixed with the thrill of soaring through West Virginia’s natural beauty. If you want to see West Virginia’s finest this tour might be for you!

You’ll start this tour zipping over top of a beautiful forest of Birch, Maple, and Oak trees that lead into a magical old growth hemlock forest. On this journey you’ll be zipping 10 lines, hiking over 5 different swinging bridges, several ground hikes and a 35 foot rappel, allowing you to get the full WV wilderness experience. Your guide will be equipped with knowledge of the local forest and history of the surrounding area, so you can walk away from the trip knowing some cool WV facts!

While on our tallest platform you’ll be suspended up to heights of 90 feet above the ground, after you take off you’ll be traveling at speeds as fast as 35 mph across canyons as long as 350 feet. If you make the smart decision of looking down during your zips you’ll see a variety of different natural features, including Mill Creek, a beautiful creek that follows the last few zips, you’ll spot rhododendrons as well, West Virginia’s state flower, and you might even see some of the natural wildlife that resides in our area.

One of the most important qualities of our TreeTops tour is the views that it offers, this course is an amazing way to immerse yourself in that wild and wonderful West Virginia beauty. TreeTops might be exactly what you need, but what if you want more fast paced thrills?

Gravity

What if you’re somebody who likes to go fast, somebody who likes to feel that sweet rush of adrenaline? Maybe you want more of a fast pace and extreme zip lining experience? If that sounds like you, our Gravity zipline course might be exactly what you need!

Our Gravity tour offers Six exhilarating rides on some of our longest and most exciting zips we have to offer. One of the biggest differences from the TreeTops Course is the speed and length that you’ll be traveling on the Gravity course.

If that’s not enough adrenaline for you, AOTG has one of the longest and fastest zip lines in the nation. This 3,150 foot zipline will send you flying at speeds up to 65 miles per hour! If that’s not enough wind in your face, we don’t know what is. Each zip has two separate lines that allow you to race your friends side by side. This can be really fun especially when the loser has to buy dinner!

Once you’re past the warm ups, the zips only get longer, faster, and more intense! Each one is bigger than the last, but while you’re soaring over the trees don’t forget to look out at the endless sea of rolling green mountains!

So you made it through the zips so far, but now you’re face to face with the 3,150 foot death defying zipline, the Adrena-Line! The Adrena-Line is one of the longest and fastest zips in the nation! This zip plays a major role in what makes this course stand out, and is the biggest difference from our TreeTops course. Are you ready to take off?
