Welcome! You’ve arrived to register for the Mid-Atlantic Splicing Conference in the New River Gorge, West Virginia on July 11-13, 2023.
Alternative splicing (AS) of precursor mRNA provides an important means of genetic control and is a crucial step in the expression of most genes. AS gives rise to multiple RNA and/or protein isoforms that can exhibit differential stabilities, molecular binding capabilities, and phenotypic effects, thereby greatly expanding the functional capacity of genes. These functions are frequently deregulated in human disease, leading to aberrantly expressed isoforms that can “rewire” cellular pathways. Many human diseases have been linked to splicing defects, including cancer, neurological disorders, and inherited genetic disorders. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms underlying splicing regulation and its dysregulation in disease is crucial for the development of targeted therapeutic interventions.
The Mid-Atlantic Splicing conference will be focused on splicing, RNA, and genomics has the potential to accelerate breakthroughs in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of disease pathogenesis. This conference will bring together researchers and clinicians from diverse fields to share their latest findings, insights, and technological advances in the study of RNA splicing and the consequences of splicing on the encoded proteome. It will facilitate collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex biological problems, including the identification of disease-associated splicing events and the development of novel therapeutic strategies to correct splicing defects. Ultimately, the knowledge and tools generated from this conference will have a transformative impact on human health by improving our ability to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases caused by splicing dysregulation.
Registration details: Entering your information below is going to send a form to our Adventure Specialists to register for the conference (July 11-13, 2023) and reserve your lodging accommodations. Once your form is submitted, an Adventure Specialist will e-mail or call you to confirm your information and selections. All cabins are on a first come/first serve basis through this form process.
Lodging details: All cabins are on a first come, first serve basis. There are several cabins that are in a room block for the nights of Tuesday, July 11th, and Wednesday, July 12th. There may be other cabins available to reserve but are not necessarily guaranteed in the room block. They will be noted below. The cabins in the room block will be released on May 26, 2023. If you intend to share a cabin with other attendee(s) or other family(s), please identify to us in the notes at the end of the form.
This registration form is an information-collection tool, it does not immediately reserve your selections. Please inform us if you would like to extend your stay and how many family members will be traveling with you. There will eventually be another form to complete for your adventure activity selections, once the lodging accommodations are finalized.
Rates listed are before applicable taxes and fees.
