The mild whitewater of the Upper New River features ripply shoals, calm pools, and fun waves–all with scenic views of the New River Gorge. The whitewater is more mild on this section of the river, ranging from Classes I-III. This makes for kid-friendly rafting, and it’s also a good fit for anyone looking for an introduction to rafting before taking on bigger challenges!
Most days, you’ll paddle an inflatable kayak (can hold one child and one adult). You’ll hop into a full-sized raft with your river guide if the water is high that day.
One child rafts free with a paying adult (ages 6-11 only, excludes Saturdays).
