The Lower New River Rapid Run is designed for those who want to experience the excitement of the Lower New River but in a shorter time frame. The Rapid Run has morning and afternoon start times and allows you to enjoy the New River by avoiding the peak times, creating a less crowded trip.
This half-day trip runs 8 miles, through 17 rapids, and is focused on the whitewater. You will raft some of the best rapids on the New River – Upper Railroad, The Keeneys, Dudley’s Dip, Ender Waves, Double Z , Miller’s Folly and Fayette Station.
This trip takes 3-3.5 hours on the water, a great way to introduce yourself to whitewater rafting. This also means you have time to explore TimberTrek Adventure Park, TreeTops Canopy Tour, Gravity Ziplines, Paintball, Laser Tag, Mountain Biking, Guided Hike, Kayaking or Horseback riding all on the same day. The Rapid Run is also a great way to start your getaway. Typical check in time is at 4pm for your accommodations. Arrive early on check in day and jump on a morning or early afternoon Rapid Run and arrive back at the Resort in time to check in to your cabin. The Rapid Run is also the perfect day trip for those that live nearby. Wake up, head over to Adventures on the Gorge, jump on one of the morning Rapid Runs, come back to the Resort and lounge by the pool for the rest of the day. I can’t think of a better way to spend a day off.
