Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a rapidly growing sport that has evolved from surfing – instead of paddling with your arms, you stand up on the board and paddle with a long-shafted paddle. SUP gives you a unique perspective in the water, and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to paddle.
Worried about having no balance? Our instructors will tailor a progression for your skill level to help you get comfortable with the board. Beginner lessons are held in the no-wakes zone of Hawk’s Nest Lake or Summersville Lake depending on water levels.
If you’d like to mix it up, try our Summersville Lake Tour, where you can SUP, rock climb, swim, or just chill on the boat.
We provide SUP guides with every trip.
We provide a SUP guide, transportation to and from the Lake, your board, paddle and PFD.
We recommend board shorts, performance shirts, sunglasses with straps, sunscreen, and water shoes. This trip does go in the rain (it’s an amazing experience!) so be sure to bring a rain coat to keep you dry and warm.
Minimum age is 10. It’s important that you can swim and that you make our staff aware of any medical conditions. There is no weight limit for this activity, but if you are over 200lbs let us know so we can equip you with the correct sized board.
Your guides and leaders will discuss specific safety requirements on site.
